Joe Starr

Joe Starr joined the Federation of Tax Administrators as communication manager in July 2022, and oversees all public-facing and member communications as well as media relations.

Joe worked in state government communications for 14 years, with six of those years serving the Wisconsin Department of Revenue. He worked for several years in corporate communications before coming to state service, and began his career as a newspaper journalist working as a reporter and copydesk editor for various Michigan based publications. 

Joe is originally from Michigan and a graduate of Michigan State University. He lives in Virginia with his wife Sarah.
